Jen Orsua is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified through the American Academy of Nurse
Practitioners. She has been a Registered Nurse (RN) since 2005 and a Nurse Practitioner
Certified (NP-C) since 2012. She also has completed 4 of 4 courses in Mastering the
Protocols for Optimization of Hormone Replacement Therapy through World Link Medical.
While working in the hospital setting she cared for patients in Intensive Care, Coronary
Care, Emergency Department, Post-Partum, General Surgery, Progressive Care,
Oncology/Nephrology, and General Medical. As a NP-C she worked in Neurosurgery,
hospital care, nephrology, primary care and hormone replacement therapy.
While seeing primary care and hormone therapy patients she found that she was often
asking herself why one patient had certain side effects and another patient taking the same
medication or supplement would have completely opposite side effects? Searching for
answers she found functional medicine and is passionate about this approach to health care
and will continue to study this approach to health care for the rest of her career.
“I have always believed that there are many aspects of a person’s life that affect their health.
I see each patient as more than just a symptom or a number. To me you are a physical
spiritual and emotional being who was created amazingly. I am after what’s causing the
dysfunction. This takes time and patience but it’s worth it. This is about quality of life.”
